Resisting Apathy and Experiencing Liberty
The effectiveness of political revolutions succeeding through political means is not very inspiring. In fact, prior to the election of Trump in 2016 it was thought to be virtually impossible to utilize the power structure to subvert the power structure. In 2008 and 2012 Ron Paul excited throngs of people, but the establishment made it clear that it would never come to pass. The coverage of Ron Paul’s effectiveness was so nonexistent that Jon Stewart was asking if he were the 13th floor of a hotel.
For many, Trump’s election was evidence that the system worked. The excitement was palpable. Millions of voters felt enfranchised for the first time. They filled stadiums all over the country to catch a glimpse of their candidate perform at one of his rallies. They had elected the biggest middle-finger they could find.
While the election of Donald Trump was a triumph to be celebrated for the next 4 years by some, others spent the entire presidency in a frenzy trying to find any hope of removing the orange demon from the presidency. They cooked up scandals to smear him with, flooded the airwaves with TDS ridden rants about fascism and racism, contorted his already inarticulate statements into dog-whistles, and wrote multitudes of articles about how uniquely horrible he was, is, and always will be. Media, academia, historians, intelligence officials, former politicians, current politicians, war mongers, comedians, musicians, and Hollywood came to life; crawling from the darkest recesses of The Cathedral to radicalize millions of spectators hanging on their every word.
Today, the 2020 election is essentially over. By all metrics, despite all of Trump’s attempts, Biden will be the 46th president of the United States as of January 21, 2021. And those millions of Trump voters, nearly 74 million people, are back to feeling disenfranchised. An election full of anomalies and irregularities took them for a ride and left them wanting. Rumors and accusations have flown all around - Trump is attempting to use the courts to stage a coup, accusations of China, Venezuela, and Iran infiltrating voting machines and changing election results in order to ensure Biden won, Lt Generals claiming the CIA and Special Forces units engaged in a firefight in Germany leading to U.S. intelligence officers and military personnel killing each other, and several people have been arrested for minor amounts of election fraud. But much like 2016, no matter the outcome, the losing side will never accept the election as legitimate further emphasizing the divide that has been developing in the U.S. for several decades.
Finally, it has been made abundantly clear to millions of American patriots that had defended the political system and institutions that this system and these institutions are in place to consolidate power, at their expense if necessary. The police are carrying out lockdown orders, arresting business owners for opening while not being a multinational corporation or special interest group with extensive political connections, yet when upper-class white liberals destroy entire neighborhoods the same police stand by and watch property being destroyed in the name of justice. The media and social media companies refuse to allow free discussion about the accusations being lobbed about much like they did in the days prior to the election. The Supreme Court is discarding cases that, on merit, would reveal the unconstitutional nature of the 2020 election because they revere voting as a sacred cow that holds precedent over the law of the land. Stories about Chinese Communist Party infiltration into American institutions and political campaigns are being revealed. Jim Jeffrey, the former ambassador to Syria, admits that they lied about troop levels and withdrawal to pacify Trump and stop his efforts to end wars. And the powers-that-be tout their advocacy to the complete reconfiguring of the world economy in order to reset the global economic order.
It is times like these that try men’s souls… *le sigh* It would be easy if all of these disenfranchised Trump supporters took their toys and went home, but I’m making the argument that, though it would be easiest to just go along to get along, apathy is not the way forward. Apathy gives these power hungry thugs exactly what they want; for you to sit down and shut-up. If you give in to the feelings of apathy your enemy wins. And, make no mistake, they are your enemy. They are using a potentially fatal cold to frighten you into staying home, losing your job or your business, and if you have the gall to defy their edicts, try to earn a living in order to keep a roof over your head and feed your family, they will lock you in a cage. They are your enemy. They despise you, your way of life, and your values. They love to see your lives upturned and looking to them for well-being, permissions, safety, and assistance in these trying times. That is how they consolidate power. That is how they control you.
To date there have been several Americans that have defied the orders of their rulers. They’ve gone out and opened their businesses to avoid losing the fruits of their life’s labor in order to provide for their families. They’ve honed into the rebellious radical spirit of America’s founding fathers and stood up in the face of tyranny - a horrendous tyranny expecting Americans to roll over, do as their told, and be dependent on the institutions that wish to see their dreams and hard work destroyed. These brave men and women aren’t screaming for liberty in the face of death, they are letting their actions speak and preserving liberty so that future generations may live. They recognize that death is a life without purpose or meaning, and they reject that option outright.
I never thought I’d see the day when the state’s governments declare it illegal for the tax payers to earn an income, but we’ve been living this scene for months now. It’s like Groundhog Day. The cycle will continue until the demands are made, and the authoritarians calling the shots are given the ultimatum that these businesses, children, homes, savings, responsibilities, and lives aren’t theirs to determine. This isn’t a call to revolt in a violent clash, a call to vote, or a call to protest. What I am proposing is that every person touched by these dictates that are destroying lives give the entrenched power of the state a bigger middle-finger than Trump by going back to life as usual.
