Dwindling Confidence and Growing Liberty
The government gets their power from the consent of the governed, or so we're told. In actuality that is not the case, but the government is only as legitimate and powerful as the governed believe it to be. Confidence, not consent, is the necessary cornerstone for any government to operate effectively.
Since the 2016 election Americans’ confidence in the instutions they once took for granted have become shaken. Whether the media screeching insane Russian conspiracies, overlooked corruption, Trump being blocked from ending wars, arms deals with Saudi Arabia, failed coups in Venezuela, inhumane treatment of immigrant children, Jim Jefferies admitting they lied to the president about the number of troops in Syria to stop his planned withdrawal, FBI attorneys going to jail for falsifying evidence, COVID hysteria, or an election full of irregularities and inexplicable anomalies confidence is shaken and red-pills are being devoured by the handful.
Just 2 days ago Lt General Thomas Mcinerny told an interviewer that U.S. Special Forces raided a CIA run server farm in Frankfurt Germany. The raid, as he recalled, left 4 soldiers dead, shot by CIA operatives or hired assassins. The spookiest of spook novels would never attempt to breach such an unbelievable twist. Yet, today, thousands, possibly 10's of thousands of Americans believe this story as the 3-star general recounts the intelligence that he claims to have recieved; and in dispute are acclaimed media outlets like AP and CNN.
Confidence in institutions like the corporate press, intellignece agencies, and the State Department is beyond shaken, it's shattered. Just yesterday I ran into a YouTube clip of Glenn Beck’s radio show in which he calls to dismantle the CIA and State Department, “and start over.” Ensuring he felt strongly about this sentiment, he then repeated the exact wording on The Blaze's The News and Why It Matters.
Some people may find this point of view to be radical, but to liberty lovers this has long been a priority. When Jacob Hornberger launched his campaign to be the LP nominee for president he wrote several articles and took part in several interviews saying the exact same thing.
Libertarians have been aware of the threats to liberty that these institutions represent for decades. Whether coups, unconstitutional wars, regime change operations, sanctions, genocides, or indefinite detention of innocent persons these institutions represent the worst forms of tyranny and oppression ever known. The idea that confidence is being shaken to the point of conservatives beginning to call for the destruction of these institutions is a huge win for the prospects of liberty. These “small government" lovers are mere feet away from minarchist lines of thought (about 8 months from anarchy as opposed to 6). As their faith erodes opportunity emerges.
I, like many other liberty minded individuals, was near the conservative brand when converting to the liberty mindset. That conversion is a painful experience. When one of your golden calves of government is exposed to you as the authoritarian tool of empire it's always been you find yourself questioning every precious tenet of the republic. Soon you're exploring theories and history you'd never imagined, and eventually your world view shatters giving birth to a brilliant butterfly of liberty hungry for the pollen produced by minds like Rothbard, Mises, and Spooner.
For many conservatives this will be a long journey. Q represents the hopes of the conservative perspective - a rogue group of operators within the government fighting to restore the republic and expose the traitors from within the network of bureaucracies. The ultimate good versus evil fight. And they're part of it. Unfortunately, this desperate attempt to cling to their ideals is a fraud, and many of them know this. In reality you're witnessing the collective heartbreak of half the nation. It is up to libertarians, anarchists, and agorists alike to be kind and patient with our countrymen. Every one of us has taken this journey of disappointment, betrayal, and dispair at some point. But, I believe, if we're steadfast in our principles, understanding of the pain they feel, and committed to freedom for all of mankind we will grow the liberty movement significantly.
Forget I told you so, and use I've been there before.
